My uncle Keith referred a 74-year-old woman to me the other day. He said she was having issues with her Internet connection at home and she couldn't check her email or download anything. Keith told me she could potentially be a strong customer because she'd more than likely refer me to more people in her area if I did well.
And it did go well. I resolved all her issues and answered any other computer-related questions she had for the hour I was there. I gave her some of my new business cards and she paid me. That was a good feeling to know that I started this business all on my own and because of my technical knowledge, someone paid me for my service. Here's a picture of what my new business cards look like:
Not too shabby at all...especially since they were free! (Maybe once business picks up, I can get some nicer ones, but these work for now).
Anyway, I know this is rather different and strange to have a blog about my company (which has been a little slow-going to get started), but I thought it'd be interesting to track my progress in a "journal" sort of way. I'm excited to help people on the side of my day job so I can feel more productive, continue to learn new things, and make some extra money.
Thanks for the referral Keith and keep em' coming if you know people in need of home-computer help.
